Six Lehi Questions in Order
How many dogs and cats can I keep in Lehi?
Up to three dogs and three cats that are four months or older on a residential lot. The dog limit was raised from two to three in November 2023.
Can I get a kennel permit for more animals in Lehi?
Only in the A-5 and A-1 zones, and it takes a conditional use permit plus an inspection by Animal Control.
Where do I license my dog in Lehi?
Online or at the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter, 193 North 2000 West in Lindon. Dogs four months and older need a license and a current rabies certificate.
Can my cat roam outside in Lehi?
No. Lehi makes it unlawful for any domesticated animal to be at large in the city.
Can a Lehi landlord charge a deposit for my emotional support animal?
Utah Code 26B-6-803 prohibits private housing owners from charging an extra fee or deposit over a service or support animal and lets them recover reasonable repair costs. A support animal is one that qualifies as a federal reasonable accommodation, and HUD's May 2026 change means untrained ESAs now get less federal enforcement help.
What does a 1-year Lehi dog license cost?
$15 for a spayed or neutered dog on a 1-year license, according to the city.
