Bluffs, Dales and Porter Rockwell's Hot Springs
Settlers arrived in 1848 and 1849, when the area was still part of West Jordan. On July 29, 1858, Orrin Porter Rockwell paid $500 for sixteen acres near the Crystal Hot Lakes, a place with the Hot Springs Hotel and Brewery and a pony express station. The Bluffdale Ward was organized on August 1, 1886, and for a short time the town was called Mousley, after its bishop. Bluffdale incorporated in 1978.
