Can I take my dog on the Timpanogos Cave trail?
No. The National Park Service does not allow pets on the cave trail or in the caves at Timpanogos Cave National Monument.
Can an emotional support animal go into Timpanogos Cave?
No. The monument allows service animals on the cave trail and in the caves, as the Americans with Disabilities Act requires, but emotional support animals are not allowed.
Are service dogs in training allowed at Timpanogos Cave?
No. The Recreation.gov listing for the monument says service animals in training and emotional support animals are prohibited on the cave trail and in the caves, while trained service animals are allowed.
Does a letter make my dog a service animal in Utah?
No. Utah Code 26B-6-801 defines a service animal as a dog trained to do work or perform tasks directly related to a disability, and it excludes animals used only for emotional support, comfort or companionship. Training, not a letter, is what makes a service dog.
