Riverton ESA Letters and Psychiatric Service Dog Letters
Riverton grew from farms watered by canals off the Jordan River into a suburban city of 45,285 people at the 2020 census, in the southwest corner of the Salt Lake Valley. If your animal helps you manage anxiety, depression or another condition, the first step toward a letter is a free screening, which a Utah-licensed clinician then reviews.

From Gardnerville to a Farm Town on Three Canals
Riverton was first settled in the mid-1850s by families living in dugouts along the river bottom, and the town was called Gardnerville before it took its present name. Growth was slow until three canals carried Jordan River water up to the benchlands, and by 1914 it was a prosperous farm town growing alfalfa, wheat, sugar beets and tomatoes.
