A Logger's Town on the Sound
Logger George Brackett is said to have found the site in 1870 when a storm blew his canoe ashore, and he bought the land claim two years later. Edmonds was established in 1876 and incorporated in 1890, just before the Great Northern Railway arrived. Shingle mills ran here into the 1950s, and the hills later filled with homes.
