A Texas license on the page
Each Arlington ESA or psychiatric service dog letter carries the name of a Texas-licensed clinician, and landlords can look up that license free.
Begin with our free screening, choose your plan and meet a Texas-licensed clinician over a video call. When the evaluation backs your request, a signed letter is ready for your Arlington landlord or your apartment community's leasing office.
Our questionnaire is free and quick, and it shows whether an evaluation is the right next move before you pay anything.

At the University of Texas at Arlington, an ESA in campus housing starts with the Student Access and Resource Center (SAR Center), and UTA sets its own documentation standard.
UTA's request form says internet certificates and any other internet-acquired documentation will not be accepted. Before you count on an online evaluation for campus housing, ask the SAR Center whether it meets that standard.

Every dog and cat in Arlington needs a license renewed each year, an emotional support animal included, and a current rabies vaccination comes first.
Licensed pets get a renewal notice several weeks before the license expires.
Arlington's public transportation is an on-demand service run by Via, and Via's rider page sets the animal rules.
Always welcome, with no restriction. Via's driver partners have a legal obligation to serve riders who have service animals.
Allowed when kept in an airline-approved carrier for the ride.
Three Texas statutes that matter when a renter, an animal and the city's licensing records meet.
Texas treats a landlord's refusal of a reasonable accommodation in its rules, policies, practices or services as discrimination when a tenant's disability may require it. Whether that reaches an untrained ESA since HUD's change in May 2026 is still open.
Your landlord must return the security deposit, minus lawful charges, within 30 days after you surrender the unit.
Owner details on a rabies vaccination certificate are confidential and closed to public-records requests, and agencies holding them may use them only for public health and safety. Arlington cites this section on its license page.

From game-day crowds to quiet lakeside streets, every part of the city is evaluated the same way, on a video call with a Texas-licensed clinician.
Yes. The city requires an annual license for every dog and cat, with proof of a current rabies vaccination.
The yearly fee is $10 when a veterinarian's proof shows the pet is spayed or neutered, and $45 when it is not altered.
At a participating veterinarian, online through the city's Animal License Registration form, in person at the Animal Services Center at 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd., or by mail to that address, with no cash in the envelope.
If your pet is impounded but is sterilized, currently vaccinated for rabies and currently licensed, the city gives it one free trip home per calendar year.
As a pet, in an airline-approved carrier. Via, which runs the city's on-demand rides, welcomes service animals without restriction and allows other pets only in such a carrier.
UTA's request form says internet certificates and other internet-acquired documentation will not be accepted, and it asks for a treating provider who is not a relative. Ask the SAR Center before relying on any online evaluation for campus housing.
