Does Memphis require a license for my dog?
Yes. City code makes it unlawful to keep a dog three months or older in Memphis without a current city license tag, and the dog has to be vaccinated for rabies before the tag is issued.
Do I have to spay or neuter my pet in Memphis?
Dogs and cats over six months old must be spayed or neutered unless an exemption applies. Keeping a fertile animal in the city calls for a one-time $200 permit.
Can my Memphis landlord turn down an online certificate?
Yes. Tennessee's statute says documents from certificate-selling websites are not reliable documentation. If that is all you give after the landlord asks, state law lets the landlord deny the request.
