A President's Home Town on the Duck
A year after Maury County was organized, Columbia was laid out in four blocks along the Duck River and incorporated in 1817. The James K. Polk Home is one of the last two surviving residences of the 11th president; the other is the White House. Maury County Animal Services. The City of Columbia does not run its own animal services, and the county center is at 1233 Mapleash Avenue.
How long may a leash be in Columbia?
The city code defines a leash as a cord, chain, rope or similar restraint that is no longer than 15 feet.
How long are impounded pets kept in Columbia?
The code allows euthanasia after 10 working days when the owner is known and after 5 working days when the owner is not, so bring proof of ownership quickly.
Does a Columbia landlord have to accept my ESA?
Tennessee law lets you request an exception to a no-pets rule or a pet charge. The landlord reviews that request with your documentation; approval is not automatic.
