It handles nuisance, abuse and abandonment cases, and its kennel holds dogs until they go home or move to Greenville County Animal Care.
Living near Trade Street, off Wade Hampton Boulevard or out by Lake Robinson? Your county does not change how this works: finish the free screening, pick a plan, then see a South Carolina-licensed clinician over video. If the clinician supports your request, a signed letter for your landlord goes into your account.
Tell us how you have been feeling, how your animal helps and where you rent, on either side of the county line.
After checkout, a clinician with a South Carolina license evaluates you by video and decides what fits.
A signed letter goes to your account when it is supported. If it is not, you get the reasons, and our refund policy applies.

Compare the current evaluation fees, read live from our checkout. Greer's online screening is free. Payment for a plan comes at checkout, before the video visit. If your clinician declines to support a letter, you have 30 days to request a refund. Questions? Read our FAQ page or contact us.

Many Greer leases carry no-pet language, so a Greer ESA letter should answer what a landlord needs to know on the first read.
A South Carolina-licensed clinician evaluates you, signs the letter and lists the license for your landlord to verify.
An emotional support animal gets an ESA letter for housing. A dog trained to do tasks gets a psychiatric service dog letter instead.
Its date and reference number are on our verification page. It does not cover stores, restaurants or flights, and your landlord still decides.

Plan on leaving it home. Greer keeps pets other than service animals out of city events, and out of city parks during organized play or practice, and the rule makes no exception for emotional support animals.
Yes. The airport district requires every animal in the terminal, pets and emotional support animals included, to be in a carrier. Service animals are the exception.

Greer details on this page come from the city, the airport, Greenville and Spartanburg counties, the state's BHDD listings, legal aid and the Human Affairs Commission. All of it is current as of October 2026. Consider this a local guide, not legal advice on your lease or your travel plans. Screening does not guarantee a letter, as that judgment sits with your clinician. Call the office named before you rely on a detail, and 988 is there by call or text whenever you need support.
The screening has no price tag. The video evaluation is with a South Carolina-licensed clinician, and any letter that clinician supports shows up in your account.
