Evansville ESA Questions
I live in the Indiana Tri-State but close to the Kentucky or Illinois border — which state's law applies?
Your ESA rights are determined by the state where your rental housing is located, not where you work or which state you identify with. If your rental housing is in Indiana — even near the border — federal FHA and Indiana law apply. Our Indiana-licensed clinicians evaluate residents of Indiana rental housing. Residents of Kentucky or Illinois housing should seek licensure-appropriate evaluation for their respective states.
Does the evaluation require me to already have an established relationship with a therapist?
No. An ESA evaluation is a clinical assessment that can be conducted as a standalone encounter. You do not need an existing therapist relationship to qualify. If our evaluating clinician determines that ongoing mental health treatment would be clinically beneficial for your presenting condition, they may note this recommendation — but it is not a prerequisite for evaluation.
