Doral Support Animal and Psychiatric Service Dog Letters
Doral grew from 45,704 residents in 2010 to 75,874 in 2020, on land first bought for a golf course. Complete the free online screening, and a Florida-licensed clinician will decide whether an ESA letter or a psychiatric service dog letter is right for you.

Doris, Alfred and a Country Club
In the late 1950s Alfred and Doris Kaskel paid about $49,000 for swampland west of Miami to build a golf course and hotel. The Doral Country Club opened in 1962, its name joining Doris and Alfred. Decades later, after a seven-year effort, 85% of voters approved incorporation in January 2003.

Doral Questions on the Scorecard
| Hole | Question and answer |
|---|---|
| 1 | Does a Doral dog need a Miami-Dade tag?Yes. Every dog over four months old must be registered with Miami-Dade County and wear its license tag at all times. Cat tags are offered but not required. |
| 2 | I found a dog in Doral. What does the county require?County ordinance says the finder must notify Miami-Dade Animal Services and have the dog or cat scanned for a microchip within 72 hours, at a private veterinarian or at Animal Services. |
| 3 | What if the microchip shows an owner? Then you must contact the registered owner within 24 hours. |
| 4 | How does a Miami-Dade tag number help a lost dog?The tag carries a letter followed by six numbers. Entering the full number in the county's online lookup shows the tag's expiration, and a finder can use it to look up the owner's information. |
| 5 | How long does Miami-Dade hold a found pet before adoption? The county says it can legally hold found dogs or cats for three days before making them available for adoption, so owners should file a report in person quickly. |
| 6 | Can a Doral landlord require a notarized letter? No. Florida Statute 760.27 bars a housing provider from requiring a notarized statement or a particular form, although it may ask for reliable information when a disability is not apparent. |
